The Wildstarts team is available to give a range of engaging talks on birds and wildlife at your events.
All talks are illustrated with our own photographs. Duration can be adapted to your time slot.
Our talks are priced at £100 for one hour (plus any travel expenses) and can be booked as online or in-person events.
- (1 hour) Sussex and Surrey are famous for chalk grassland, an internationally rare habitat. Susy Jones reveals the unique wildlife of the chalk slopes and how she has played her part in securing its future.
- (1 hour) There are many challenges when it comes to conserving one of the world's most threatened habitats. Former nature reserve warden Susy Jones showcases the wildlife of the gorse and heather, and tells her story of fighting to save it.
- (1 hour) Susy Jones shares her experiences working with Britain's native reptile species, from Sand Lizards to Smooth Snakes. This inspiring talk by a seasoned nature reserve warden reveals the secrets of some of our most elusive and fascinating wildlife.
- (1 hour) Delve into the lives and status of the five species of owl lurking in this corner of England... We cover identification, life history and tips on finding each owl.
- (1 hour) Let us walk you through the identification of the duirnal birds of prey you can expect to see in South East England. By the end of the talk, you'll know how to tell a Goshawk from a Sparrowhawk, a Merlin from a Hobby and much more!
- (1 hour) David busts the myth that gulls are a headache and breaks down identification so anyone can master this fascinating group.
- (1 hour) Each month brings new birding opportunities. This illustrated talk walks the audience through each season and the exciting birding this diverse part of the country offers.
