Available between May and July, this tour takes in between two and three of the best sites for wildflowers in the South Downs and Sussex, depending on the exact time of your booking. Matt Phelps is a keen observer of wildflowers with infectious optimism. He will be your guide throughout the day, teaching beginners the basics of identification and tracking down sought-after species for those after something rarer. The South Downs hosts a range of beautiful and exciting orchids, including Musk Orchid, Burnt Orchid, Man Orchid, White Helleborine and Marsh Fragrant Orchid. Among a host of special plants, Sussex and the South Downs is also home to wildflowers such as the unique Round-headed Rampion, Carline Thistle, Fairy Flax, Wild Wignonette and Wild Thyme. This tour can be tailored for novices, experts or those with a simple curiosity for the splashes of colour in meadows and clearings. Request a tour to begin the journey.
