The raptors were performing on the downs near Steyning during today's outing. A ringtail Hen Harrier was the highlight, but was too distant for decent photos. Several Red Kites and Buzzards were hanging in the breeze, while a Kestrel hovered masterfully above the bridleway and a chunky female Peregrine Falcon cut through the sky towards Cissbury Ring.
A Stoat appeared on the path before doubling back into the verge. It didn't come back out. A flock of Corn Buntings kept watch at the top of a nearby bush.
