Hastings and Rye birding

It was a delight to take Kate, Andrew and family on a half-day customised tour last weekend, visiting Rye Harbour and Hastings Country Park.

It was quite a day for grebes, with a lot of fun watching the antics of Little Grebes (photo), as well as a few Great Crested Grebes, and even a Black-necked!

This Merlin was a total surprise as it loafed around on the saltmarsh at Rye in between rounds of hunting!

Hastings Country Park offered amazing views of this hunting female Kestrel above the clifftops.

The day was topped off in the final moments with incredible views of a Dartford Warbler
